Maa Narmada and Kaveri meet at Omkareshwar and get separated and then reunite,and never be apart again. This natural combination gives rise to an island in the form of OM shaped mountain, which is called Omkar Parwat or Omkareshwar Parikrama.

Although the echo of Omkar is heard in every particle of India, but there is a place on this land of India where Narmada and Kaveri, the sacred rivers of Sakshat Bharat, together form an island of Om Aakar (Om sizes), whose circumambulation is of great importance.

On this island (Omkare Parwat) , Lord Shankar resides as Omkareshwar.  The Parikrama of this God land means the path to get closer to Lord Shiva, which called Omkareshwar Parikrama. Here Lord Omkareshwar lives with Maa Parvati and the whole family and 33 koti deities reside with his family.

 There are many mythological temples here. The Pandavas had cut the time of their exile here. Shankaracharya had studied here and established Hindutva. Omkareshwar Parikrama Marg is Around 7 kilometers long, ancient temples, ashrams, greenery, red-faced monkeys and Geeta shlokas will be written all over the way.
